08/28/20 St. Matthew United Methodist Church of Weston, WV held their monthly community dinner on Saturday, August 22. Keeping the tradition alive with a revised drive-thru format, a total of 60 chicken dinners were served!

This popular event continues to see a great turnout as this makes two consecutive months in a row in which 60 community dinners were served. It was a great Saturday afternoon to enjoy a delicious, home-cooked meal, especially when its baked chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy and green beans from St. Matthew. A dessert and drink were also served. And, the drive-thru service was fantastic!
Serving 60 community dinners this month is a huge offering to Lewis County residents. And, best of all, St. Matthew continues to find ways to spread the love, hope and faith of our Lord, Jesus Christ, during these very challenging times.
A big thank you goes out to the wonderful efforts of Michael and Lee Anne Mick, Greg and Allison St. Clair, Sandy Virden, Whitney Ballard, Eunice Lattimer, Barbara Whitt, and Linda Osborne that helped make this a very successful event. Without your help, care and love of our church and community, none of this would be possible.
At this time, we would also like to thank who has helped contribute specifically to the Community Dinner Fund. Without your support, offering this enlightening service to our county would not be possible.
We look forward to next month’s Community Dinner and believe it will also be a success. Stay tuned for more information in the weeks ahead.
