70 Heavenly Meatloaf Dinners Served

09/27/20 On Sat., Sept. 26, St. Matthew United Methodist Church in Weston held their monthly Free Community Dinner as a drive-thru format. 70 meatloaf dinners were served to the community of Weston and Lewis County.

The total number of dinners were up by 10 compared to the previous month, indicating a possible increase in awareness of the event by the community. Or, perhaps word just keeps traveling more and more about the wonderful cooking that goes on at St. Matthew.

The home style menu was fantastic. The glaze on the meatloaf was heavenly and the surprise hash brown casserole was out of this world. Add in some green beans and a few delicious homemade cookies and this was one super filling meal.

A big thank you goes out to the outstanding efforts of Michael and Lee Anne Mick, Allison St. Clair, Sandy Virden, Whitney Ballard, Bill and Ryanne Bennett, Linda Smith, Rosanna Silcott and Dianne Phillips that helped make this a very successful event. Without your help, care and love of our church and community, none of this would be possible.

We would also like to thank who continues to help contribute specifically to the Community Dinner Fund. Without your support, offering this enlightening service and spreading the hope of Jesus Christ to our county would not be possible.

We look forward to October’s Community Dinner and believe it will also be a success. Stay tuned for more information in the days ahead.
