Worship Services To Begin Streaming on YouTube September 18, 2022

09/16/22

As some of you are aware, we have been experiencing ongoing issues with streaming our St. Matthew United Methodist Church worship services utilizing the Facebook platform. This has caused other problems and inconsistencies within Facebook itself, as well as with the archives we keep published on our website.

Our Communications Team has been working with the West Virginia United Methodist Conference for some time on this topic. It is has been their suggestion that we switch from using Facebook to another streaming platform, such as YouTube, as the former could potentially be incompatible with our website.

After much review, our church has decided to begin using YouTube, effective with our 10:45 a.m. Morning Worship Service on Sun., Sept. 18. We have been in testing mode for the past few weeks, so we expect a smooth transition this Sunday as far as live streaming is concerned.

Regarding watching our services, there are two ways you can watch them–via YouTube or from our website. Services can be watched live or at a later date and all services will be archived. You can watch from your computer, tablet, phone or Smart TV. Read on.

YouTube

You can watch our live services directly from our newly-established YouTube Channel. Simply visit the our YouTube Channel link at 10:45 a.m. every Sunday morning and that day’s service should be available near the top of the page. Be sure to “Subscribe” to our St. Matthew United Methodist Church Weston, WV YouTube Channel and you will receive automatic alerts when we go live with future videos! All services will be archived on this channel, so you can easily watch previous services.

Website

As in the past, you will still have the opportunity to watch our services directly from our website. Simply visit our homepage, hover over the “Worship” drop-down menu and select “Watch Worship Services.” Next, select the service you wish to watch, whether that be the most recent service or a previous service.

Facebook

Unfortunately, for those of you that have gotten used to watching our services via Facebook, you will no longer have that capability. However, we will post a link each Sunday that will direct you to the YouTube livestream feed. Simply click on the link, and you will be directed to our YouTube Channel to watch our services.

If anyone experiences any technical difficulties in accessing our services online, please let us know and we will be happy to help assist.

We appreciate your continued support and dedication to St. Matthew United Methodist Church in Weston, WV. We all look forward to bringing you the latest technology we have available to us. None of this would be possible without the help of the West Virginia Conference, and of course, all of those who so graciously dedicate their time and efforts toward this wonderful cause.

Thank you all so much.
